The cold weather didn't deter everyone from thoroughly enjoying the afternoon of Mixed Hockey at Etone on Saturday.  This was the "Closing Ceremony" for the club's hockey for the 2007/2008 season.

Over 60 players, ranging from 11 to plenty over 40, took part in the event.  Normal hockey rules were applied, with a few little amendments.  Points could only be gained, in the main, by scoring goals - two points for each goal. A goal-less draw led to one point for each team.

Strangely enough, the two teams with a Lady as captain, were the two teams that contested a very exciting final.  The two Mens' captains were nowhere to be seen!!!  The final went to a Penalty Shuffle, and was won by Davies Dynamos 3-2 after sudden death.

Mens' Chairman Nigel Lawton presented the winning Shield to captain Jane Davies, and thanked everyone for turning up.  New players, young and older (from 10 upwards) are more than welcome to join the Club (Mens or Ladies) - and can do so via this website.

MIXED TOURNIVAL 2008

The Mixed Tournival closed the 2007/08 season at Etone Sports Centre on 19 April.
